This year has been a great year for music, with some of my favorite albums and songs of all time being released during this year. In honor of that, here are the 25 best songs released this year.

For this post, I decided to keep it simple and put the first thing that pops into my head for each song: no long paragraphs, just my top 25 songs of 2025.

25.

The Subway - Chappell Roan

The perfect song to belt when you are home alone. Who's going to Saskatchewan with me?

24.

I DREAM OF SINKING - Quadeca

Lost at sea, but your boat is capsizing. This song is the epitome of what I would imagine being lost at sea feels like.

23.

Dracula - Tame Impala

Future Halloween classic. The only stand-out track on an otherwise disappointing album from Kevin Parker, someone who we all know can do better.

22.

Whatever You Like - Dove Cameron

What I'd imagine being in a relationship with someone you really love would feel like. Can't wait for the album, Ms. Cameron.

21.

New York - Addison Rae

Late-night banger with insanely fun production. Who would’ve thought someone from the TikTok Hype House could drop an album that might actually be the best pop album of the year!

20.

flash - 2hollis

Holli wanna be a star! This song is so amazing, but of course it's short. Manifesting an extended version one day.

19.

DUMBO - Travis Scott

A surprising banger with a top-tier instrumental. Another sole standout track on an otherwise lackluster, highly anticipated project.

18.

Who Knows - Daniel Caesar

Yearning final boss. Daniel Caesar has such a way with words.

17.

Henry, come on - Lana Del Rey

Almost getting trampled in the Stagecoach pit. Aside from that, Lana, where is the album... We would really appreciate it.

16.

Jealous Type - Doja Cat

Pop banger that deserved to go #1 for 10 weeks. One of the catchiest songs of the year.

15.

I Got Better - Morgan Wallen

Late afternoon, right before going to a high school football game. Don't hate me for this pick; the album has some bangers.

14.

Greenlight - Tate McRae

Underrated and relatable song. The lyrics and production on here are top-tier. Tate deserves more flowers than she is currently getting.

13.

Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson

Loud. This song reminds me of what summer feels like every month of the year.

12.

KETU TeCRÉ - Bad Bunny

Should be so much bigger than it is. Praying that I can somehow see Benito on tour, and not just through a screen during the Super Bowl.

11.

It's Just Us - Kali Uchis

Gorgeous instrumental. Best love song of the year.

10.

Current Affairs - Lorde

The hidden interpolation that wasn't even hidden, but everyone just ignored it. Life was peak when she was teasing her return. Can't wait to go to her concert in May.

9.

Berghain - Rosalía, Bjork & Yves Tumor

Rosalia might be the most versatile artist of all time. Especially when you stack this track up with the rest of the album and consider how different it is from the rest, but the album is extremely cohesive.

8.

Amber Waves - Ethel Cain

Deep dark winter. Mid-January on a Tuesday morning. It's raining but the slightest amount of sun is shining.

7.

Verano Rosa - KAROL G & Feid

Summer. Summer. Summer. Perfect beach day song.

6.

who f**king cares? - Lola Young

Relatable. I cannot wait to see more of Lola Young and her music in the future. Eternally bummed that her tour was canceled, but crossing my fingers for a GRAMMY win for her.

5.

DIE TRYING - PARTYNEXTDOOR, Drake & Yebba

Best Drake song I've heard in years. I'd love an album full of these types of songs, but that is never going to happen.

4.

Vanish Into You - Lady Gaga

Pop song of the year. Hearing this song transports me back to my bike rides to and from Coachella.

3.

Striptease - FKA twigs

The bridge makes me ascend. I had never listened to Twigs prior to this, and listening to this song is an instant energy booster.

2.

BOKeTE - Bad Bunny

The album was so good, I had to put another song down. The lyrics are so raw and emotional, and it's been my go-to song for whenever I'm "in my feels."

1.

Nettles - Ethel Cain

Perfection. I can genuinely write an entire essay just on this song. This song is truly the best song of all time.
